Appellation: Rattlesnake Hills
The 2009 Vintage: The growing season was favorable while an early freeze mid-October delayed harvest, resulting in grapes having higher acid levels and lower sugars.
The Wine: Strong red/magenta color and classic Bordeaux-like Washington State scents of bright black fruit and some spices / Lush, abundant rich fruit flavors and beautiful strong black currant and coriander flavors with Northern Bordeaux-like scents with hints of dense, black fruits / Long finish with sweet fruit finish and lovely Cabernet Sauvignon flavors.
Food Matches: Steak, especially well-charred rib-eyes and braised roasts of beef. Fine with hard, highly-flavored cheeses and all rich dishes.
Descriptors: Strong black fruit flavors complement beef & richly-sauced meats. Perfect complement to dishes with complex, rich sauces.
