Petit Verdot

Petit Verdot

2011 Petit Verdot

Appellation: Rattlesnake Hills

2011 Vintage:  A cool summer and fall delayed ripening and presented us with some acid and sugar issues.  Final picking was necessitated by very cold weather. The 2011 harvest was difficult but rewarding.

The Wine:  Petit Verdot can be one of the more difficult winemaking challenges, due to the very dark, tannic skins and small berry size.  This wine exhibits a classic pencil-lead’ nose, great depth, and soft fruit aromas, coupled with a full palate, a long finish, and classic lavender impressions.
